Grantmaking Process

We believe that young feminist activists have both the capacity to think critically about the issues affecting their lives and to have direct input into how funds are allocated to meet their needs. Based on the Central American Women’s Fund model of participatory grantmaking, grant applicants are invited to collectively vote who among applicants gets funded. This is an empowering and participatory decision-making process that means grantees have greater accountability and a sense of investment in the process. FRIDA’s staff and team of advisors will ensure that grants are awarded through an open and transparent review of applications. For more information on our grantmaking process please contact
