FemSolution
FemSolution was founded in February 2016 by students of the Kiev-Mohyla Academy in Kiev as a response to the widespread existence of sexism, homophobia and racism in the academic community. Now the group includes people from other universities as well as grassroots activists from Kiev. FemSolution is a feminist, horizontal, anti-homophobic, anti-xenophobic student association, friendly to people of all faiths and gender identities. Initially, the mission of the organization was the creation of a feminist community in the “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” and contribute to the promotion / strengthening of the pro-feminist discourse in public space. Now it also includes the promotion of cooperation within the feminist community, the creation of a platform for the exchange of international experience, inviting more people to join us in our grassroots activism and form solidarity with friendly initiatives.
The group is pleased that within a short period of time, they have managed to create a platform for discussions where feminism is interesting, relevant and not marginalized and the people are getting the opportunity to communicate and share experiences. “It is important for us that we held events with feminists from different countries and that we are taking the discussion to the public space through street actions / marches,” they say.
