JOB SUMMARY

In recent years, FRIDA has been fortunate to experience rapid growth in staff size, due to a growing budget and increasing grantmaking and other activities. As we have entered a new Strategic Plan, a rising priority is to ensure that our internal systems and structures stay relevant and adequate to FRIDA’s increased size, and that all staff members are able to thrive and grow within FRIDA. 

A key part of this process is to strengthen our Human Resources capacity, and to continue to build our internal Human Resources policies, procedures and systems, in line with staff needs and with FRIDA’s feminist values. This position will support the Senior HR Officer and the HR Manager with key day-to-day HR work, based on staff needs and the specific nature of a virtual workplace, in line with FRIDA’s feminist values. 

We seek a feminist HR Officer who is excited and willing to work through this period of internal strengthening. This role is primarily a generalist position within HR – a large portion of this role’s capacity will be dedicated to ensuring Human Resources meets its overall work plan, with a focus on administrative duties and support to staff recruitment processes. This person would need to have a strong attention to detail and a ‘duty of care’ to the staff, communities, and organization during this time and beyond. We seek someone with a commitment to supporting and promoting young feminist leadership at FRIDA. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment Support

  • Support the Senior HR Officer and Hiring manager as needed with recruitment activities including the preparation of job postings and job descriptions, arranging interviews, and carrying out or supporting with note taking during interviews, all while supporting FRIDA’s diversity and inclusion goals. 
  • Provide administrative support to the recruitment team, including but not limited to maintaining recruitment files, accounts, templates and guides.
  • Assist in identifying process improvements for key functions such as recruitment tools, templates, policies and procedures.

Admin

  • Organizes and maintains staff contracts and HR documents virtually, ensuring that all data is complete, kept up to date and meets organization and legislative requirements – including but not limited to timesheets, work plans, and HR master spreadsheets and databases.
  • Assists with all aspects of total compensation administration, including retirement funds, benefits and salary adjustment administration
  • Supports the implementation of HR programs and initiatives, working with other FRIDA teams as needed
  • Prepare and send organization-wide updates and communications regarding HR programs and initiatives as needed
  • Collaborate with the Finance Team as needed
  • Any other administrative duties as assigned by the Senior HR Officer and HR Manager, in line with this ToR

General

  • Participates in FRIDA team-wide organizational strengthening and development processes
  • Attends FRIDA team meetings 
  • Ensures personal administration requirements are completed accurately and on an going basis, such as personal timesheets, reimbursement reports, and others
