Ainagul Amatbekova
Ainagul is a young feminist activist coming from Osh, Kyrgyzstan. She has seven years of experience in activism within which she promoted the rights of women and girls. Additionally, she has been involved in community organizing while being assigned as a resource mobilizer for a local youth-led feminist organization where she is also considered to be a co-founder, former chairperson, project coordinator, and advisor. The projects she has designed and worked with include the areas of women’s and girls’ rights with a focus on the issues of gender-based violence and discrimination based on gender, age, and ethnicity. Currently, Ainagul is completing her MA program in Politics and Security in Central Asia at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Her thesis will cover the issues of women and girls in the Central Asian Roma community called Mugat. Furthermore, Ainagul is a volunteer of the national network “UNiTE Kyrgyzstan” which involves CSOs working in the areas of feminism and gender. Ainagul is also a proud alumna of IVLP (International Visitor Leadership Program) and EVS (European Volunteer Service) programs. She is a persistent person who is eager to learn by doing. She speaks Kyrgyz, Russian, and English fluently.
