Beatriz is originally from Durango, México but has been living in Oaxaca for over a decade now. She has more than 10 years of experience collaborating with national and international organizations, during which her role has mostly been focused on Finance and Administration. . She started working in World Learning, an organization focused on Grassroots Development & Social Change programs, and has also collaborated with community based organizations focused on land defense, sustainable development and poverty reduction. She has a degree in International Business; a Certification in Women’s Issues, Feminism and Decolonization and a Master degree in Gender Equity & Development by the Universidad Central de Cataluña, Spain and the feminist organization, Cooperacció, with a thesis in gender violence. Currently, she collaborates with the diffusion, promotion, and defense of Indigenous Women’s rights in the state Oaxaca in México. In her spare time, Beatriz likes to run, read, spend time with friends and family and enjoy nature. She is fluent in Spanish and English and is slowly learning Chinanteco.
