Favourite Quote: “You never completely have your rights, one person, until you all have your rights” – Marsha P Johnson

Denny is a trans* feminist who has had her roots in LGBTIQ+ and sex worker human rights activism. She has experience as peer educator; gender and intimate partner violence councilor and intervener;  and as an LGBTIQ+ and sex worker human rights defender and paralegal. She spent her years while a university student working with community partners to create safe spaces for queer youth and volunteered in community development programmes..

Denny has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She has experience working as a finance assistant for an organization working with programmes to eradicate poverty; the economic empowerment of girls and young women; and SRHR and sex worker support programmes. Denny has also worked as the finance associate to an eastern African indigenous feminist fund resourcing the LGBTIQ+ and sex worker movements within that region. She is currently a member of the International Trans Fund grant making panel helping to resource trans* movements worldwide. Her vision  is to provide capacity support towards more sustainable operational/financial practices and funding within civic organising and their support organisations while being actively involved in the  progressive emancipation of women and gender minorities.

Denny resides in Kenya where she loves taking  long walks in the forest and mountains, road trips into the middle of nowhere and breathtaking views. She enjoys globe trotting to witness new cultures and have a taste of exotic local food delicacies. At any one time she has a crime, science fiction or fantasy thriller hidden somewhere in her bag pack.
