Ekaterine Gejadze is a human rights defender and a feminist activist from Tbilisi, Georgia. Ekaterine has graduated from Gender Studies Program (Central European University), where her MA research focused on women͛s political participation in Georgia in the period following the ͚Rose Revolution – 2003͛. As a member of a local activist Fund (Women͛s Fund in Georgia – during 2013-2017), Ekaterine has been involved in mobilizing resources for women͛s and girls͛ rights, and has been actively working on developing the culture of feminist philanthropy. She has experience working on issues related to SRHR, women͛s movement building, environmental justice and digital security. Together with her colleagues, she has organized the first Feminist Festival and the first Feminist Radio Program in Georgia. Ekaterine is a member of local and international women͛s rights groups, including Independent Group of Feminists, and vocal about issues related to violence and discrimination against women and girls, gender justice, and LGBTIQ rights. At the moment, Ekaterine works at Mama Cash as a Program Associate for Europe, Central and North Asia, and is involved in conducting a CommsLab research, commissioned by Astraea and Transgender Europe, on mapping the landscape of internet surveillance and digital needs of trans activists in CACEE region. Ekaterine is fluent in Georgian, English, Russian, Turkish and tweets as @EGejadze.
