Favorite Quote: “I believe that we all deserve to live in a world where our strength is not determined by how much oppression we can endure” Janaya Khan.

Jona is passionate about sexual and reproductive health and rights and diverse girls’ rights issues. Her educational background is in Anthropology and she’s always been using “cultural dimensions” in her work on feminist & developmental analysis across multilateral sectors. She’s currently a Nominations and Governance Committee member of International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and a Youth Champion and Guiding Group member of the global SheDecides movement. Jona was also a former Girl Advisor of FRIDA, MamaCash & Iwords Global research on “Girls to the Front: a snapshot of girl organizing.” She has been constantly finding herself in the extremes of situations: from staying in communities where a teenage mother she interviewed wasn’t aware that she was actually raped – to lobbying, securing and persuading stakeholders to further commit in gender-equal and intersectional feminist approaches to policies and implementation. She speaks Filipino and English.
