Maria is a Spanish ecofeminist based between the Iberian Peninsula and South East Asia. She is passionate about environmental justice and healing justice movements, and believes transformative social change only happens through intersectional collective organizing. Her expertise is in gender and sexual based violence, mental health, SRHR, participatory methodologies, peer education, and community organizing. Before joining FRIDA, she worked in various countries across the globe in a variety of human rights issues. She also did some consultancies for different organizations including APWLD, The Due Diligence Project and FRIDA. Maria holds a bachelor degree on Psychology, a Master’s degree in International Development and has specialized in Human Rights and Violence Against Women. In her spare time, she practices yoga, walks with her dog, and spends time with her beloved tribe. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and is currently working on improving her Indonesian. Maria doesn’t tweet so much, but every now and then, you can find her here @ma_diezq.
