Patronus: I have a soft spot in my heart for monkeys 🙂

Favourite Quote: “Women, let’s not let the danger of the journey and the vastness of the territory scare us—let’s look forward and open paths in these woods! Voyager, there are no bridges, one builds them as one walks” – Gloria Anzaldua, In her foreword to This Bridge called my back.

Sally identifies a Cairo-based Arabic-speaking African feminist. She has studied English Literature and has been working on producing feminist knowledge around gender and sexuality in Arabic, since 2013, within Ikhtyar Feminist collective’s team. Along with her team, she co-strategizes, coordinates, co-edits, and co-works on building an inclusive feminist community that gather around knowledge (either in its sharing or production). Previously, she worked as a researcher for AFTE from 2012 to 2016 on artistic freedoms (censorship), digital freedoms (libre knowledge, privacy and digital security). Sally is deeply interested in and passionate about defending human rights, and feminist work is her passion. She is fluent in Arabic and English and tweets as @SallyHaq.
