Spirit Companion: A purple dragon, or a fire-breathing bunny

Favorite Quote: “And it’s hard to dance with the devil on your back so shake him off” – Florence and the Machine

Maame Akua Kyerewaa-Marfo is a singer, writer and feminist activist based in Accra, Ghana. She has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and has 4 years of experience working in communications within feminist activist spaces. She is deeply invested in the feminist community and is one of the organisers of the Young Feminist Collective, a group of incredible women who meet once a month to sit, breathe and build a feminist community together. The collective also organises public events and collaborates with other feminist groups within Ghana. She’s passionate about the arts and the written word and its ability to change reality. Until recently, she has been working as a Communications and Fundraising Assistant at the African Women’s Development Fund. She speaks English, Twi, knows enough high Valyrian to ride a dragon, and is currently (re)learning french. In her spare time, she loves baking & burning experimental cookies, making music, reading and laughing loudly with her friends and family.
