Photo of the Month: January 2017

January 13, 2017 (updated July 15, 2020)

WIMA

It is almost mid-January already and we are in 2017! Yes, time is flying and we want to take a little pause and cherish a sweet moment. This picture was sent to us by our grantee partner in the Pacific, Women in Martial Arts (WIMA), Kiribati, who are grateful for the resources they have received from FRIDA. It has helped them grow, as a team, and dream big for 2017. This passionate young feminist group is inviting young women who are interested in joining self defense class, local dancing and many other exciting programs, especially for young girls. They dream of training young women in martial arts so well that they are inspired to become security officers and policewomen in their community. Now, that’s a new year resolution we should all support, shouldn’t we? 🙂
